Have you ever wanted to know what your future is? Many of us would like to know. We may read horoscopes or see palm readers. We May even map out our lives trying to change events to mold the future, and then act in desperation when it all falls apart. Since we really don’t know the future, we may look at the future with doubt and fear or with eyes of faith.
For those who are Christians, meaning we have accepted or recognize Jesus as our Lord, we still mostly think in the ways of the world, limited in the realization God is working in our lives. Our minds our finite and we often do not understand what God has planned for us. We cannot come close to understand his ways. We can only hope for a glimpse.
God is Omniscient
Omniscient means having universal knowledge. In other words, God knows what will happen before it occurs. He knows our actions before we act. We still have free will and God’s omniscience does not contradict it. We may still do as we please, but God knows each decision we will make, how we will obey or disobey, or trust him or not. He simply can see everything from beginning to end, so he knows how we will act. He knows everything. We we do not know, he knows perfectly. He knows how long we will live, who we will marry. What our finances will be like. Who our children and grandchildren will be, what they will do, and how they will impact other people. He knows it all, the good and the bad.
So, trust in God with your whole heart and he will lead you. You see, he only gives us good, and doesn’t plan bad things. Some things happen to us and they look bad and painful. In it all, God has worked out something good in spite of our current dilemma. God knows the future, and has good things waiting for us.
God is Omnipresent
God has the ability to be present in every place at any, and/or every, time. Nothing can stop Him from being everywhere. He is everywhere at any point in time. He is with us when we obey Him, or when we disobey Him. He knows all about us and even knows the number of hairs on our head. Jesus said He would be with us after He died. He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and comfort us. He breathed the Holy Spirit on the disciples at Pentecost, and we receive the Holy Spirit when we accept Him as out savior. We are all important to God. Whether we have a big house, a nice car, or have nothing, we are as important to Him as the next person. God’s presence is inevitable in our lives. He lives in us, and we are also part of His presence.
God is omnipotent
God can do anything. He is in control. We may think our enemies, or even Satan is in control; that evil, or bad things are dominant. God is the master project manager. He knows how to use all resources to do His work, glory and will.
In my limited knowledge, I think of God with all the puzzle pieces, arranging them; knowing what will happen; using His power and knowledge to do his glory. Time is in his hands. Isn’t the power of God amazing?
God’s Love is Beyond Understanding
We can’t understand how great it is, since there is nothing on earth that can compare. His Love is not always what we expect. Sometimes it corrects us to act the way we should act. Sometimes His love molds us into the image he wants us to be. We can’t imagine how deep His love is, and how much he grieves when we stray. He Loves us even in our darkness and uncertainty. He loves when we obey him, and when we disobey him. His love is inevitable in our lives, and nothing can separate us from the love of God.
God is sovereign. He causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him. Just because we don’t understand it doesn’t mean it’s bad. He causes all things to work together for good, even if it is painful for us. Just because it is out of our power, doesn’t mean it is out of God’s power. Nothing is out of His power
There are many events in the Bible when things seemed so hopeless, yet God’s glory was shown and delivered. Joseph was sold by his brothers He became a slave, was falsely accused by his owners wife. It wasn’t until decades later God’s glory was shown, when Joseph became second in charge of Egypt. He was able to save his brothers and sons (the tribes of Israel) through the gifts and authority God gave him.
Sometimes we lose our focus and our belief all things are possible through God. We Fret and lose faith. Sometimes might give up and lose the blessing God was going to give us. Therefore our testimony for others later is lost.
Romans 8:28-39
28And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.God’s Everlasting Love
31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans tells us:
· God causes all things to work together for good for those who love God
· If God is for us.who can be against us?
· God did not spare His Son for us..why wouldn’t he freely give us all things
· What can separate us from the Love of Christ?
o Not Tribulation
o Not Distress
o Not Persecution
o Not Famine
o Not Nakedness
o Not Peril
o Not Sword
o Not Death nor life
o Not Angels or principalities
· Through all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Jesus Christ
God’s love is unconditional
Do you know how long it took me to understand this? For the longest time I thought I was different. I always though God loved others more than me. Or that I was to be brought down for his glory, or not given my needs so someone else can get theirs.
But, God loves us all the same, not one person better than another, but everyone the same. God’s love is unmeasureable
Perhaps what has happened in our lives that we thought was bad was because God loved us. Whatever drives us closer to God is good, and perhaps he was using trials in out lives to mold us and make us closer to his image. The Cross is the most perfect Image of God’s love.
God Provides and Will Provide Every Single Thing You Need. He loves us so much he did not spare His Son to save us. Why would He not give us everything we need?
Journey
Sometimes the journey between hearing His promise and receiving it Is sometimes long and difficult. We may feel compelled to give up since it is so far away. But, If we do give up , we must remember; we might miss the blessing God was preparing for us.
We don’t have to go to anyone to know future, nor do we need to know the future. Life is full of unknowns and no one knows but God, and he is only going to let you know as much as he wants you to know. You really don’t need to know anything past the present moment. It is better to face the unknown with peace and confidence knowing God will give you what you need and desire. Abide in him, and trust in him.
